Bone Densitometry Test for Early Detection of Osteoporosis

This test involves taking an X-ray of the thigh to measure bone density. Are your bones weakening without you realizing it? "Osteoporosis," where bones become brittle due to calcium deficiency and develop "holes" (cavities), requires particular caution, especially for post-menopausal women. For early detection and prevention, why not get tested?

We recommend the bone densitometry test for the following individuals:

  • Women who have had ovarian surgery or are post-menopausal
  • Low calcium intake, poor appetite, underweight, dieting, picky eating
  • Long-term use of steroid medication
  • Thyroid, parathyroid, or adrenal gland diseases
  • Diabetes
  • Rheumatoid arthritis
  • Lack of exercise, poor muscle development
  • Poor gastrointestinal health, poor digestion and absorption
  • Smoking, excessive alcohol consumption
  • Family history of osteoporosis (either parent)
