When cancer develops, abnormal proteins (tumor markers) appear in the body. These can be detected through a blood test. If these substances exceed a certain level in the blood, the likelihood of cancer increases.
*Please note that this is a supplementary test. Exceeding the reference value does not necessarily mean cancer is present. Conversely, cancer may exist even if the value is below the reference range.
